Kent boy and Westminster/ RCA graduate Liam (27) recently hatched from the highly supportive bosom of the Fashion East family, and 2016 marks the year Liam’s milk teeth fell out and his ears grew into his head - because in this his 6th season, thanks to Topman and New Gen initiative, he’s outing his first solo catwalk show. Kent, stand up.

This season’s rudiments lie around British petrolhead culture - modified, hot hatch back, flat to the mat, Japanese-import-loving British car culture. The man in mind is our garden variety oily apprentice mechanic, the lads doing it for the love of it, the guys who purposely won’t shell out for a flash new motor but instead get their hands on a hot hatch back and channel enough love into it that over time they make the thing something fast and beautiful on their own terms. Or, in short, Kevin Webster with a bit more nouse.

As ever, graphics play a big role with personalised licence plates and road markings standing out as reference points. Keep your eye out for a jacquard print that looks like a a G-force shredded licence plate, and a second jacquard of a big bag of dirty spanners - One for the connoisseurs. The main colours used this season are licence plate yellow, black and white, red red wine red and royal blue. The standard overalls spectrum.

A big thing for us this Winter season is the layering, most obvious on the modified tracksuit overalls. Evolving from the patchwork theme of previous collections, the modified overalls see us patchworking with garments instead of onto them. The bias cut overalls are welded to classic tracksuits to soup them up, and come as a nod to the apprentice who needs to fire some greasy uniform overalls on over his best clobber when working on his car.

And last but by no means least, hair stylist Tina Outen has created some stellar plastic-moulded head pieces that look like a body kit for the head.

Man this is our space

Come taste that fast paced haste

We jus’ rats in the race

Riding wasted, blurred faces

Embrace of the misplaced

Cos’ tomorrows full hollow dreams

So either follow, get chased or be seen

Jus’ aspiring to be admired

Comin thru hot like fyah

Perspire at the smell of dem tyres

Sideline girls, teenage desires

Nissan skyline shines

Move in time to this bassline wind

Wave n wine,

Cos’ this aint a life of crime

Jus’ a life in its prime,

Show us the finish line

Fresh new trims

Spinning rims bigger than ur sovereign rings

If u don’t know get 2

Like “look at chu look at chu”

Zooming thru mushrooms to garage tunes

Feeling peachy like luigi

Chatting breeze with ur roadside gs

Listening to 4 x 4 in the four door

Scored by a big bore 4

Gone in a hot minute

In a Honda civic racing out the city limits

Flamer kits lit

Spitting quick lyrics off the brick

Banging tunes

In the Sr nova motor

Minor joy riders

Sippin cider in the Porsche spider

Cos every rides like a tranquilliser

Guess us drivers’ a little wiser
